More than 40 student-athletes experienced FCA Wrestling Camp-Summer 2007. The battle cry for all of our FCA Camps is “a week of inspiration and perspiration" For those who showed up to Newark Memorial High School for our intense four day wrestling camp, they definitely would have sounded off using these words! Wrestlers ranging from 8 years of age to high school seniors received the opportunity to hone their technique on the mat, learn the nuances of wrestling from top level clinicians, meet new friends, be challenged in their lives and strengthened in their faith by mighty men of God. Over thirty of these wrestlers made faith commitments.
Each day wrestlers were challenged to be "Game Ready" from top level coaching, on the mat learning, testimonies, daily devotionals, chapel, nutritional breaks, videos, more coaching and so much more! Our clinicians included:
· Tanner Gardner—current 2-time all-American from Stanford and former HS state and national champion.
· Jay Jackson—former all-American, former Stanford coach, high school state champion, current Irvington High Coach
· Braumon Creighton—former 4-time all-American and undefeated high school state champion.
· Oscar Gonzales—former high school all-American, state champion and current coach at Valley Christian High
· Tony Gomez—former high school all-American, state champion and current FCA staff in Santa Ana.
· Marcus Randolph—former NAIA qualifier and current Youth Director at Abundant Life Christian Fellowship.
