Clay Elliott
Clay Elliott currently serves as the Bay Area Director. His hands on involvement includes all four of our ministry involvement (Camps, Campus, Coaches, Community) as well as chaplaincy’s for the Arena Football League Champion SJ Sabercats and the recent College World Series participants SJSU Spartan Baseball team. He joined FCA staff in September ’99.
Together Clay and Kelly have 4 great kids—Megan (Azusa Pacific), Brooks (Biola Univ.), Whitney (Biola Univ.) and Zac (West Valley JC). All four of his kids have been very active in FCA while attending school.
Prior to joining FCA, Clay was a Youth Pastor for 17 years. He has started and led many sports ministries, coached many sports teams at various levels and is passionate about challenging the individual to take their faith onto the playing field. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education from Biola University and is seminary trained. The former 9th Round Draft pick of the Atlanta Braves played professionally for 5 years, playing for legendary coach Leo Mazzone before getting involved in ministry.
Clay loves to read and write. You will find some of his work in current FCA resources. He loves to begin his days with a physical, spiritual and intellectual work out!
Clay on FCA, “My favorite part of FCA is taking a college or pro athlete onto the high school campus to speak to the student athlete. When we do this we always see some kind of fruit…and it can’t get any better than that!”
