Rigo Lopez

"Do not grow weary when doing good, for at the right time you will reap a harvest, if you do not lose heart."  Galatians 6:9

Rigo serves as an Area Rep in the Bay Area. He has been on FCA staff since September 2006.

Prior to joining FCA staff, Rigo was an assistant baseball coach at the University of San Francisco, where he also served as the FCA huddle coach. His roles included: catching instructor, first base coach, overseeing the Jr. Dons Baseball Academy, amongst the other details of the day to day operations. Prior to  coaching, Rigo played professionally overseas for the Vienna Bulldogs. Rigo has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from USF (2000), where he was an all-conference catcher.

He comes from an extensive baseball background.  His father played professionally in Mexico. Passing on his passion for the game to his sons, Rigo and his three younger brothers all played college baseball.  His youngest brother Esteban currently is a catcher in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization.

His passion for ministry stems from an early age when his father was instrumental in church planting, orchestrating conferences, and involved with orphanages in Mexico.

Rigo on FCA, "It's truly a privilege to be a servant of the Lord through such an exciting ministry as FCA.  I know sports ministry is only one branch of God's Kingdom but to be able to encourage, empower and equip others who have had such a significant impact on my life such as coaches, athletes and teachers is indeed a blessing from God himself."
