Bay Area FCA Staff

Clay Elliott

Northern CA Director of Ministries
celliott@fca.org

Clay was born in Pittsburgh, PA but was raised in the Bay Area when his family moved here in 1963. He gave his life to Christ on Good Friday as a ten year old praying with his dad. Soon after he began praying that God would use him to make a difference for the Kingdom through the vehicle of sports. He was drafted in the 9th round by the Atlanta Braves as a junior in college and played 5 years in the Atlanta system. He married Kelly Lynch in 1982 and together they have 4 children—Megan, Brooks, Whitney and Zachary. Meg married Drew Sanchez in 2007 and together they have two children—Kobi and Cooper. Clay joined the FCA staff in ’99 after 17 years in church ministry. His wife Kelly also joined the staff at that time. His life verse is found in Matthew 5:48, “Be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

Kelly Elliott
San Jose State University Representative
kelliott@fca.org

Kelly was born in Lewiston, ID but moved throughout the United States several times until her college years at Biola University. Although she prayed to receive Christ at the tender age of 5 and later experienced some valuable mentoring and discipleship during her high school years through Campus Crusade of Christ, it wasn’t until her 30’s that she really began to understand her identity in Christ. One of Kelly’s favorite verses emphasizing this is 2 Cor. 5:17 “Therefore if any man is in Christ he is a new creature; the old things have passed away and new things have come.”
Kelly started fulfilling her dream to be a wife and mother when she married Clay Elliott in 1982 and welcomed their first child, Megan, in 1984. The “nest” quickly filled with 3 more children - Brooks, Whitney, and Zac by 1988. During the first 17 years of their marriage Kelly worked alongside Clay in church youth ministry and then transitioned with him to the Bay Area FCA as the administrative assistant. With a heart for Christ and a love for people, Kelly recently moved out of the office and into the field, focusing on ministry to female athletes and coaches at San Jose State University. Twice a week she also enjoys caring for her 2 grandbabies – Kobi and Cooper (born to daughter, Megan and son-in-law, Drew Sanchez).

Rigo Lopez

Bay Area Representative
rigolopez@fca.org

Prior to coming on staff, Rigo was an assistant baseball coach at the University of San Francisco. He was part of the school’s first ever NCAA Regional team in 2006. He also played baseball at USF where he was an all-conference catcher, and graduated with a B.A. in Psychology. After graduation, Rigo played pro ball for a year. Rigo comes from an extensive baseball background. His father played pro baseball in Mexico and Rigo and his three brothers all played college baseball. His youngest brother Esteban played professionally and is currently coaching in the Los Angeles Dodgers farm system. Rigo’s passion for ministry comes from the seeds of faith planted in him as a young kid. His dad played a key role in his life in telling Rigo about Jesus. His dad was instrumental in planting churches, overseeing mission trips and supporting orphanages in Mexico.
Rigo and his beautiful wife Vicky were married in October 2010.

Pat Lee
East Bay Area Director
plee@fca.org

Pat’s spiritual journey first began as he attended a Vacation Bible School program in the 4th grade at the invitation of a family friend. Later that year, he received Christ as his personal Savior on December 28, 1975.
Pat received his Bachelor’s of Science (1988) and Master’s of Science (1989) degrees in Civil Engineering from UC Berkeley. Pat also completed his degree at Western Seminary in San Jose, graduating in June of 2011. He worked for 5 years in the water resources field; designing hydro-electric power plants and water conveyance systems. From 1992 – 2009, Pat served in full time church ministry as a youth & associate pastor.
He has volunteered with FCA since 2008 and he officially joined our staff in 2011 as the East Bay Director.
Pat and his wife, Cynthia, have been married since 1992. Cynthia works in the business side of health care while also being a mom to their three sons - Tyler, Evan, and Max. They have lived in Castro Valley since 1999. The Lee family enjoys playing and watching sports, eating ice cream, strolling the mall and watching “who-dunnit” TV crime shows.

Whitney Elliott
East Bay Area Representative
Admin Assistant
welliott@fca.org

Whitney was born and raised in the Bay Area. When she was 4-years-old she prayed to receive Christ as her Lord and has had a heart for people to know Jesus ever since. She went to Biola University and received her B.A. in Liberal Studies with a Minor in Biblical Studies in 2009. She loved her experience at Biola and the friends that she made in those years became her second family. During each summer throughout her college years Whitney served at Sonshine Ministries - a houseboat camp on the Sacramento River Delta/Lake Shasta. Through Sonshine Whitney learned what Jesus meant when he told his disciples in Matthew 16:24-25, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it." She was humbled and truly dependent on Christ for the first time in those years.
She came on staff with FCA as an intern in the summer of 2010, and then joined the team full time in September of that year. Whitney swam competitively for 10 years but did not pursue her career any further than high school. She loves getting to work with student athletes and challenging them to be bold for Jesus on their public school campuses. She also enjoys serving alongside her parents within FCA, and serving the Bay Area team in the office as the Admin Assistant.
