Join us for an inspirational evening at the Legends Dinner benefitting the Bay Area Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). This annual fundraiser banquet celebrates and supports what God has been doing to change lives in our community through the vehicle of sport.
Since 1954, FCA has been striving to see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. FCA encourages and equips coaches and athletes to share their faith and the hope of the gospel with all whom they influence. Coaches and athletes of all age levels are empowered to use their platform to be “the heart and soul in sports” through their growing relationships with Jesus Christ. Hear exciting first hand stories from FCA staff, student leaders, coaches and volunteers of how their lives have been transformed by the gospel.
Our special guest of honor will be Major League Baseball legend Darryl Strawberry. He is one of the most iconic figures in Major League Baseball history and a powerful voice of redemption, faith, and perseverance. A legendary outfielder, Strawberry was an eight-time MLB All-Star, four-time World Series Champion, and one of the most feared power hitters of his era. Over a 17-year career with the New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants, and New York Yankees, he amassed 335 home runs and helped lead championship teams at the highest level of professional sports.
As a key member of the 1986 World Series champion New York Mets, Strawberry’s combination of athletic excellence, confidence, and clutch performance made him a household name. He later added three more World Series titles with the Yankees during their historic late-1990s run, cementing his legacy as a winner and leader.
Beyond the accolades, Darryl Strawberry’s life story is one of profound transformation. After experiencing the heights of fame and success, he also faced deep personal struggles, including addiction, broken relationships, and life-threatening illness. Through faith, accountability, and perseverance, Strawberry found lasting freedom and purpose, emerging as a living testimony to the power of God’s grace and redemption.
During the evening, you will be given the opportunity to consider partnering with us and investing financially in the FCA mission. The banquet will also include a live auction, silent auction and raffle.
We invite you to attend this evening and be impacted by the stories that we share, the changed lives we celebrate, and the vision we have to impact our community for a greater reward that goes beyond the win and loss scoreboard.
